The legendary guitarist John McLaughlin and two of his extraordinarily talented band mates from The 4th Dimension remember fellow musician U. Srinivas, who played electric mandolin with John McLaughlin in the formation Remember Shakti.  Srinivas passed away in September of 2014.

Recently Srinivas, Barot, and Mbappe had formed a trio which explored a fusion of African and Indian music.  In this interview John McLaughlin shares his memories of Srinivas, and Ranjit Barot and Etienne Mbappe talk about their work on the album Bombay Makossa that they recorded with Srinivas, and we preview several tracks from the new album.
